Threads
Conversations can quickly get lost in a chat channel, which is frustrating when you want to refer to something later. Not anymore! Threads are a great way to keep a topic going without cluttering the main chat channel.
Creating a thread
Click the Create thread icon on the menu for the message you want to respond to.
Or
Right-click the channel and click Create thread
This action will create a thread within the chat channel. Send a message to start the thread.

The thread you have made will be nested under the original message and in the chat channel.
Creating a private thread
Start by privately mentioning or replying to someone by toggling the icon.
Click on the icon from the private message to create a private thread.
And now you have a private thread that only @mentioned users can view! To add another user to the thread, simply @mention them anywhere in the thread.
Archiving and restoring a thread
By default, a thread will automatically archive itself after 24 hours of inactivity. If you want to keep a thread active for longer, simply toggle off this option in the More options overflow menu located at the top right of the thread.
To access all archived threads, click the menu on the right at the top of any chat channel
You can restore the thread by clicking Restore at any time.
Renaming a thread
You can easily rename your thread to give it a more descriptive or recognizable name for easier identification.
From within the thread, you can click on Thread name to change it!
To restrict the ability to create threads, you can manage the permissions in the Roles section or adjust the channel permissions to disable thread creation for certain roles or members.
