How to Create and Manage Channels on Guilded
Channels are the heart of your server. Whether you’re chatting, streaming, or sharing files, Guilded gives you a range of channel types to choose from.
Creating a Channel
- Click the + icon next to Channels
- Choose your channel type and give it a name
- Click Create
Your new channel will appear at the bottom of the list, or inside the category you created it in.

Channel Types
Here are the types of channels you can create:
- Text chat – Use threads, pin unlimited messages, add polls and forms
- Streaming – Up to 16 people can stream in 4K at 60fps
- Voice – Includes rooms, Whisper, Broadcast, and 256kbps audio
- Calendar – Create and manage events with RSVPs and form options
- Scheduling – Collect member availability and convert to events
- Announcements – Share updates or switch to public blog view
- Forums – Organize discussions and centralize important info
- Lists – Use for tracking, workflows, or idea boards
- Docs – Create long-form content with images, videos, and markdown
- Media – Upload videos, images, and link YouTube with pop-out player
Moving Channels
Drag and drop any channel to reorder it or move it into a category.
If you move a channel to a category with different permissions, you’ll be prompted to sync or keep existing permissions.
Deleting or Archiving Channels
Right-click the channel name to:
- Archive it, so you can bring it back later
- Delete it permanently, which cannot be undone
If you think you may need the channel again, always archive instead of deleting.
